A relaxing stay in The Flying Scotsman luxury shepherd's hut glamping in the Brecon Beacons was just the ticket!
The Flying Scotsman is one of three luxury glamping shepherd's huts on Onnen Fawr Leisure which is part of Dark Sky Escapes. Whether looking for a night stargazing, a family or romantic getaway Dark Sky Escapes will have just the property and experience for you.
The evenings are starting to get lighter, it was lovely to relax in the hot tub and gaze at the stars and moon surrounded by breathtaking Welsh landscapes. Cosy and views! Surrounded by rolling hills and close to one of the darkest places in the Dark Skies Reserve.
The space inside the Shepherds hut is unique because there is a space for all - sleeping on a beautiful double bed, eating on a hand made Oak table with extra seating up to 4 people, facilities to cook in a hand made fitted kitchen with traditional farmhouse style dresser for all your crockery etc. and finally a fantastic bathroom that includes shower cubicle (not a tiny one but a normal size), toilet and wash hand basin. There is storage also for all your belongings including suitcases.
It was early in lambing season during our visit, I had the special experience of spending time with the sheep and lambs, learning more about farming life including a ride in a tractor and a chat with farmer Keri Davies. I met an ewe and her quintuplets which are very, very rare.
