Dear Janine,
Now that I’ve retired and had time to reflect I wanted to write to you to thank you for the work you did for the community of Cwm and the school in particular.
Your idea to set up a walking/running group after school certainly helped us to gain recognition and spurred us on to become even more involved in the community. The success of the group can be partly attributed to the funding you secured via grants which enabled us to attract parents who may not have joined otherwise. In turn the involvement with outside agencies led to the school’s partnership with The University of South Wales.
The exercise class for the elderly provided a great source of enjoyment and fulfilment for those who attended. It also allowed the pupils to visit the older members of the community at the library and in turn invite them to the school for social events.
The gymnastics group which you set up for girls in the community provided them with opportunities that they may not have had if it were not for the establishment of Sole Sisters.
Finally the Couch to 5k, and subsequent fitness sessions, that you and Kath provided gave lots of Cwm females the opportunity to improve their health and fitness which many of them have maintained.
It is unfortunate that Covid disrupted the great work you were undertaking in the community, but I wanted to thank you for all the support that you gave the school during my period as Headteacher.
For the last 3 years it has been a pleasure to help Janine with Goal Mapping.
Each year she has achieved or exceeded her goals both personally and professionally.
Janine is so passionate about all of her projects and has a genuine spark and joy for life, so to work with her and share the excitement when she ticks off a goal is so inspiring to watch.
Janine is focused, consistent & determined in everything she does.
Janine and I have been working our businesses alongside each other for several years now. What I love about Janine is the style in how she approaches her business and the ability she has to help so many people from different backgrounds achieve. Remembering no two people look to gain the same from their business, Janine’s simple approach truly does get the most from the people she works with.
Janine has supported me in my Forever business for over 2 years. Janine reached out to me when we went into lockdown and my income stopped overnight as I am a self-employed Fitness Instructor. We have worked together building my business with regular meetings, which have included walking meetings, training on products and guiding me when I was unsure of anything. She has shown me how to retail and grow my business in easy way around my commitments, always listens to my suggestions and helps me put them into practice.
During lockdown being able to continue making private pension contributions and replace some of the income I had lost was very important to me. I earn £500 – £700 per month and find retailing the products natural in my line of work. We use the products as a family and my customers love them too.
I run Walking the Brecon Beacons which I started in 2016. Following covid the group had become stale and was slowly dying a death. In 2021 I asked Janine to become admin for our Facebook group. In a year she turned the group around and it’s now back to one of the best groups on Facebook and Instagram.
With no doubt was the best thing I did for myself and the group.

I have been a guest speaker at several events organised by Janine and have only been impressed and reassured by her fabulous organisational skills, attention to detail and consideration for others involved in the delivery of an event, as well as those in the audience.
It is a rare quality to be able to deliver such high-quality events with such a personal touch, but Janine has mastered it. It is an absolute pleasure to work with her and be able to contribute in a small way to the amazing charity work she does.
