I AM NO LONGER PREDIABETIC!!!
Since finding out in 2019 that I had a blood glucose level of 46 and was 1 point away from having type two diabetes, it has been a roller coaster of emotions. Consistently worrying about whether something I eat will spike my sugars and tip me just that little bit over the edge, where I would require medication. For 5 years, I have tried to get it under control and despite the numbers getting lower, I always remained a person with pre-diabetes.
Looking at my five years, I now understand why I remained that way for several years. It all fell down to not truly understanding what pre-diabetes meant for my body. The first thing the doctors told me was to lose weight, which resulted in many miserable attempts at crash dieting but also losing weight in an unhealthy way and time frame.

It was only after having my third daughter, that I began to research and learn what would help me reverse it. I realised it wasn’t just about losing weight, but building muscle, so that the extra glucose my body had, could go to my muscles rather than just sit in my blood. I also realised that I couldn’t rely on my bmi to give me a true representation of my body and began to focus on my body composition. Here, I was able to see where I was losing weight from, how my body was building muscle and what I needed to do going forward.
2 months ago I was again tested and still remained prediabetic, only to be tested last week and be told I am completely out of a pre-diabetic range. It just shows what determination, but also knowledge can do.

Since moving to Wales from London, I had not managed to find anyone that could offer a detailed analysis of my body composition. I have recently had a baby, however prior to the following, fitness was a big part of my life. My goal was to get in the best shape I’ve ever been in and put on a considerable amount of muscle mass whilst losing body fat.

I came across Janine’s page promoting InBody and thought it would be a great opportunity to get a detailed review. Janine was and is absolutely phenomenal. Janine really enjoys supporting others reach their goals and provided me with an in depth scan, but also discussed my results and what my next steps should be. I had 3 monthly InBody test with Janine over November 23, December 23 and January 24 to keep track of my progress and any adjustments I needed to make. Thank you so much Janine. You truly are amazing! I am literally over the moon, now for some cake! By Chemana Imms

It gives me great pleasure to see inspirational transformations when someone is determined not to accept a condition. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Chemana and watch her reach her goal despite being a young mum with three young daughters, the youngest being just seven months old.
Prediabetes, also commonly referred to as borderline diabetes, is a metabolic condition and growing global problem that is closely tied to obesity.
If undiagnosed or untreated, prediabetes can develop into type 2 diabetes; which whilst treatable is currently not fully reversible.
Prediabetes is characterised by the presence of blood glucose levels that are higher than normal but not yet high enough to be classed as diabetes.
For this reason, prediabetes is often described as the “grey area” between normal blood sugar and diabetic levels. In the UK, around 7 million people are estimated to have prediabetes and have a high risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
Many people have prediabetes but are completely unaware of it. This is because the condition often develops gradually without any warning signs or symptoms. In many cases, the sufferer only learns of their borderline diabetic state once the symptoms of type 2 diabetes start to appear. Therefore, being aware of the risk factors is essential.
