Thank you to the Bryn Bach Parc Parkrun toast ladies for your kind donation of £150 to Pinc which was raised by fundraising and a raffle by the group following the diagnosis of breast cancer by one of their members - Adele Greenly.

The donation was presented by a very positive and inspiring Adele who shared her story:
"I just feel very lucky that health checks are part of our work benefits and include a mammogram for all women over 40, (And that I turned 40 in April). I’m fit and healthy and I never thought they’d find anything wrong with me. Even when I had a call from the Dr to say they found something that didn't look right on the mammogram I wasn’t worried it would be anything serious. I was referred for biopsies and they found DCIS which is an early form of breast cancer. There was no lump to feel, on the ultrasound it just looked like little white specks. It was found very early, I had a lumpectomy at the beginning of October and I’m due to have some radiotherapy soon then I’ll be sorted. If I hadn’t had the mammogram through work, who knows how long it would have been and how much it could have spread before I had any symptoms and discovered it. It’ll be another 10 years until I’ll have a mammogram through NHS screening."

Adele is a keen runner, and hiker, who enjoys the outdoors and paddle boarding. Pinc wishes her well with her treatment and recovery so she is back to her hobbies and enjoying the outdoors as quickly as possible.
